the boundless ingenuity of jacques wirtz of wirtz international, a belgian landscaping firm, has awed and astounded me. with a particular love of hedges myself, i must admit to his intelligent designs. the undulating hedge clouds and his creative planting on grand scale; evident in the radiating hedges at the jardin du carrousel in the tuileries gardens in paris, testifies to his sensible approach of restraint that works with the spaces rather than against them. it becomes a natural architecture… as it should.
